Flour Sack Test

after leaving my Access course and waiting to begin uni (i actually got in i know shock!) i had time to make my own films. This movie came about for three reasons 1) animate something at 24 fps, 2) get to grips with Toon Boom Animate and 3) create a character performing multiple actions without cutting away.

Raven Transformation

This was my final Access Course project and the theme was our own, it gave me freedom to animate something that truly inspires me as an artist the poems of
Edgar Allen Poe. My favorite work of Poe's is "The Raven" originally i intended
to retell this and use the reading of Christopher Walken as an audio overlay, unfortunately this would have ran over the deadline as the audio is over eight minutes long and i would have had to create a mass of drawing. So i instead made a human physically transform into a Corvus Corax.

Made using Flash CS4 and runs at 10 fps (still slow)

Animated Work

This is one of my Access course projects i was given a theme of containment. I though of a few things nothing that really popped, i tried to think about containment laterally i came up with an idea of a candle like human life has a beginning an end and changes its form as it ages. It is also trapped in its shape and cannot be given life without a physical action.

It was made in Corel Painter XI and runs at a very slow frame rate as it took a very long time to paint every individual frame.
